Ian graduated from North High School in 1997. He was licensed as a journeyman in 2003 and certified as a master electrician in 2005.

Having worked more than 8 years as an electrician, Ian has had a large variety of experience. Before starting Empower Electric, he worked for a larger company in the Des Moines area. Ian was often in charge of commercial and residential jobs. He has experience in new commercial and residential projects, remodels, developments, troubleshooting, job design, parking lot lighting, additions, service work, and maintenance. Ian can work effectively with or without blueprints. At his former place of employment, Ian built a reputation for being an honest, hard worker who was highly efficient and easy to get along with. People often requested him specifically to work on their projects.

Ian and his wife of 8 years, Casey, live in Des Moines. In their free time, they regularly share in volunteer work within the community.
